WHOIS Information
WHOIS is the public directory of domain ownership. Every domain has registration information - who registered it, when, through which registrar, and when it expires. This tool queries that database.
Privacy services hide personal details, so you'll often see the registrar's info instead of the actual owner. But you can still learn when a domain was registered, its nameservers, and its expiration date.

- Nameservers
How to Interpret WHOIS Results
- Registrar: The company managing the domain registration, not necessarily the website host.
- Nameservers: The DNS provider currently responsible for answering records for the domain.
- Expiration date: A useful renewal signal, but some registries display dates differently or redact fields.
- Privacy redaction: Redacted registrant data is normal for many domains and does not mean the lookup failed.
If WHOIS data is limited, cross-check with DNS records and RDAP. WHOIS tells you registration context; DNS lookup tells you where traffic is routed right now. For incident response or domain ownership checks, both views are usually needed.
